Welcome & Announcements
Thank you for worshipping remotely with us. This resource is meant to help the Melrose Chapel family share in worship even though we can't be together in person. May you be blessed today and always.
Call to Worship
We stand in the need of the presence of God.
Our lives can so easily become
corrupted by our own greed.
But the Lord has heard our cries
and calls us forward on this journey.
Lord, guide our steps.
Come, let us worship God who is always with us.
Let us open our hearts to the healing,
restoring love of God.
Lord, we come to you this day with so many things laying claim to our lives, our hearts, and our spirits. Open our ears and our hearts to hear your words of healing love. Prepare us to be faithful disciples for you. For we ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Be sure to join us on Zoom at 9:00 am on April 26 as we gather for a time of greeting, friendship, prayer, and reflection. Find the link to join at the bottom of this online worship page. Did you miss that time? Not to worry! A recording will be made and placed on this page as well.
Joys & Concerns
What's on your heart today? Do you have worries or concerns? Do you find things to be thankful for? Whatever is in your heart, God wants to hear it. Take this time to prayerfully reflect on your needs and those things for which you are thankful. When you've shared this in prayer and allowed God to sit with you a bit in this time, close your time of prayer with the Lord's Prayer or other words that are upon your heart:
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, Forever and ever. Amen.
If you have a prayer need that you would like to share, please consider submitting a prayer request here. Please ensure that you have appropriate permission to submit the need. If you need to speak with the pastor concerning this request, please indicate that in your request.
Tithes & Offering
Until we return to in-person worship, please consider mailing in your tithes and offerings. Let us share our gratitude for the grace we have received by giving freely to a world in need of Easter joy.
Holy God, bless the gifts we offer you this day, that they may bring hope and new life to a world that so desperately needs your love, your joy, your peace, your redemption, and your hope. Amen.
Our gospel text is John 2:13-22 (If you click the link, it will open up the reading for today and you can read along.)
Consider listening to the following songs/hymns that echo our message for today:
Only Trust Him
Take Time to Be Holy
Change My Heart O God
O gracious God, we pray for your holy Church universal, that you would be pleased to fill it will all truth, in all peace.
Where it is corrupt, purify it;
Where it is in error, direct it;
Where in anything it is amiss, reform it;
Where it is right, establish it;
Where it is in want, provide for it;
Where it is divided, reunite it;
For the sake of him who died and rose again, and ever lives to make intercession for us, Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. Amen.
How has God been speaking to you in the message and the songs? Continue to open your heart and mind to God's will for you and for Melrose Chapel. To God be the glory!
